Mimosa
I have always been drawn to the Mimosa tree and its profound medicine for grief and depression. After many years of sitting with Mimosa, I wrote a song about grieving and the ways I have conversed with this beloved tree, who knows how to show up during heavy times of our life.
You can listen to it on Bandcamp, Spotify and all other streaming platforms.
Mimosa
I pass you by
You catch my eye
You’re pink with delight
You almost take flight
I’ll bloom and fall
Like a changing heart
I’ll lay my grief
down by your feet
Bring me some peace,
Be my sweet release
I’ll bloom and fall
Like a changing heart
You burst with joy,
I hear you say
“may you feel lighter on your way”
I’ll bloom and fall
Like a changing heart
oooh
I wanna grow
along the road
where the creeks they flow
I close my eyes and then I pray
may we be happy, may we be free…
I’ll bloom and fall
Like a changing heart
